Joined the Board on November 19, 2020 and was appointed Group Managing Director on 10 July 2021.
He is primarily responsible for charting the strategic direction and overseeing the operations of the Group. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from Brock University, Canada in June 2001 and obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom in December 2002.
He began his career in January 2003 at Hong Leong Bank Berhad, as a short-term contract mortgage sales executive where he was responsible for executing sales & marketing strategies to develop new customer base for the bank’s mortgage products. He left to join NEC Computers (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in April 2003 as Software Engineer and was responsible for preloaded software testing. He left the company in September 2003 to start his own business.
In October 2003, he founded Safetyware Sdn. Bhd. and became its Managing Director. He then acquired Technical Rubber (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (subsequently renamed to Safetyware Industries Sdn. Bhd., then to Quicksign Sdn. Bhd.) and became its Managing Director in November 2008, Keyway Technologies Sdn. Bhd. in December 2010, and subsequently founded Safetyware EHS Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. in July 2011. He has grown Safetyware Group into one of the leading occupational safety & health specialists in Malaysia and the region.
Tan Choon Lai
Executive Director & Chief Compliance Officer

Joined the Board on Nov 19, 2020 and was appointed to our Board on 19 Nov, 2020.
She is primarily responsible for the Group’s quality management system, corporate governance, and compliance matters. She obtained a Diploma of Mass Communication from Han Chiang College, Penang in Dec 2002. She received a Diploma of Higher Education from Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom in May 2009. She then obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the same university in Nov 2014.
She began her career in NEC Computers (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. as a Buyer in May 2003 and was responsible for planning and purchasing of direct materials. She left the company in August 2003. In October 2003, she joined Safetyware Sdn. Bhd. as General Manager where she was responsible for business development, human resources, and the quality management system. She was appointed as the Executive Director in January 2013.
She was subsequently appointed as Executive Director for Safetyware EHS Consultancy Sdn. Bhd. in July 2011 and was in charge of the overall operations of the company. She is also a director of other subsidiaries within the Group including Quicksign Sdn. Bhd., Keyway Technologies Sdn. Bhd., and Safetyware (SG) Pte Ltd.
Loh Wei Hoong
Independent Non-Executive Director

Currently, Prof Loh is a Corporate Coach for Vistage Group, an exclusive CEO club in US. In 2018, Prof Loh was awarded as the best speaker of Vistage. He graduated with Master of Arts in Economics from Dalhousie University, Canada and also graduates Diploma in Marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing and also a NLP Coach. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD at Tungku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology and the research topic is Family Business Succession Planning.
Prof Loh Wei Hoong was the Head of Marketing Department of KPMG for many years and was responsible for the strategic planning, brand management, public relations, marketing planning and market research for the Firm. Later, he joined BDO (Fifth largest accounting firm) and became Senior Manager in charge of operations and human resources management. Prof Loh also worked in various industries namely financial industry, oil and gas industries with years of working experience. He was also an entrepreneur and started his own English School Business in Beijing and Tianjin.
In 2010, Prof Loh was awarded by the Penang State Government of Malaysia an award of PKT for his contributions to the State Government. Prof Loh was an active educationist and trainer. He was an adjunct faculty member with many leading MBA schools in the Asia Pacific region namely the Renmin University of China, Beijing University of China and Shenzhen University, Huazhong Technology University in China, Southern Luzon University in the Philippines, and Cape Breton University in Canada. He had conducted MBA classes in Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar and Canada for more than 20 years.
Prof Loh was also a well-known, regular guest speaker for the local television talk shows and radios in Malaysia, as well as a regular speaker at Cari.com. Prof Loh is also a column writer on business and economics for a news network.
